Leadership Development
The New leadership paradigm Learning System is based on three fundamental concepts:
- Leadership development programmes should always begin with developing an individual’s self-leadership skills.
- Individuals should then learn how to lead a team before they learn how to lead an organisation or a community
- Learning should always be relevant and emergent (on-job and on-demand), and self-managed and structured (self-directed and evolutionary).
Based on evolutionary theory there are five essential characteristics that leaders need to master and display:
- Adaptability
- Continuous learning
- Ability to bond
- Ability to cooperate
- Ability to handle complexity
