Leadership Team Alignment
There are two types of alignment that are required for increasing internal cohesion—values alignment and mission (or vision) alignment:
- Values alignment is created when employees feel that the values of the organisation are aligned with their own personal values. When this happens they feel “at home” in the organisation and can bring their whole selves to work. What they are effectively doing is connecting to the culture of the organisation—to the way employees are treated, and the way people interact with one another.
- Mission alignment is created when employees feel a sense of alignment with, and are committed to the purpose of the organisation as reflected in the vision and mission statements, and they believe the organisation is on the right track.
